Bali, Indonesia Visa Free / Visa On Arrival (VOA) Info

Busy planning a visit to Bali, or somewhere else in Indonesia? Hopefully this post clears up any confusion on the immigration process.

Over 160 countries have visa free access to Bali and other parts of Indonesia. This is a 100% free visa stamp that doesn’t require any application or anything, just proceed directly to immigration and they will give you the stamp. It’s valid for up to 30 days.

Visa On Arrival

The free visa is not extendable, so if you plan to stay longer than 30 days then you would need to get the visa on arrival (VOA) instead. This visa costs $35 USD and it’s extendable for an additional 30 days (60 days total length).

The extendable 30 day visa on arrival is available to the following countries:

If extending the visa is too much of a hassle, then the other option would be to leave the country at the end of your free visa or your VOA, and then come back and get a new one for an additional 30 days.

In either case, keep in mind that your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day of your arrival, with an empty page for the visa stamp. For counting purposes, your day of arrival and day of departure each count as a full day toward your total. There is a fine of 1 million IDR ($70 USD) per day for overstaying your visa in Indonesia.

Countries not included in any of the lists above will need to apply for a visa before visiting Bali or other parts of Indonesia.
