Saren Cliff Point in Nusa Penida is one of my favorite spots anywhere in Bali.

This one’s had a special place in my heart since my first visit in 2017, and more recently I proposed to my wife here!

Like many places on Nusa Penida island, you get incredible panoramic views of huge white limestone cliffs.

This travel guide will explain how to get there, and everything you need to know before you go!

Where To Stay In Nusa Penida

Saren Cliff Point

Saren cliff is a quiet spot and it has two different viewpoints where you can look over the cliffs.

There’s an epic tree swing here where you can sit and enjoy the views, and I think it may just hold an unofficial record for the most scenic tree swing in the world.

Since it’s on the west side of the island, Saren is also a great spot to watch the sunset!

Do be careful near the cliffs though, because a local kid fell to his death here in 2019. It’s a huge drop and there are no safety barriers.

Entrance Fees

FREE as of 2020.

There’s no entry fee or parking fee at Saren Cliff Point.

How To Get There

Saren cliff point is on the southwest side of Nusa Penida island.

It’s accessible by car or scooter, about 1 hour drive from the main docks and accommodation in northern Penida.

Be careful if you go by scooter because the road to Saren is one of the roughest roads in Penida, and may be dangerous in some spots if you don’t take it slow!

Nusa Penida Private Driver

If you want to explore Nusa Penida in the comfort and safety of a van with a driver, my top recommendation would be GetYourGuide.

They offer a full day of driving and sightseeing in Penida (up to 8 hours) for 1-5 passengers. This tour includes the whole van + driver + petrol.

We’ve used GetYourGuide for lots of tours and activities around the world, and they’re great! Highly recommended.

Where We Stayed

We stayed at Saren Villa on the north coast of Nusa Penida, and paid 240k Rupiah ($15 USD) for a private double room with cold A/C, hot shower, and good WiFi.

This is one of the cheapest options in Penida, and it’s in a great location near the best restaurants! We were happy.

Prices may fluctuate from time to time, so just keep an eye out for a good deal.
